Is it ok to dye your hair when your pregnant?

I read in a magazine how its ok as long as you dont get any on your scalp, but my roots are the problem! :( And I know when I usually dye my hair the chemicals are very strong. Will that hurt the baby if inhaled? Can I just get it professionally dyed?

Go to a salon and ask for organic dye. They use it alot on pregnant women and its safe. Just make sure the place is well ventilated!

I just found out a week ago that I am 2 months pregnant. I have brown hair, and have blonde highlites, but they I need new highlites because the roots are growing out and it looks not as great as it could. I was told that coloring your hair while being pregnant, is not a good thing. I don't know if it is safe or not, but what I was told, does make some good sense. I was told that since my horomones are going crazy at the moment cause of being pregnant, getting a hair color, those horomones could make it ANY color. I would hate to get blonde highlites and it come out green or something! But hey...you never know what your body would do, I don't think I'll be taking any chances! Good luck ;-)

My ob said it was safe to dye my hair while I am pregnant. I am 27 weeks along and I dyed my hair last week. The problem that was mentioned to me was that when you are pregnant your body produces chemicals and can cause the chemicals in the dye to react differently causing a different color than expected. So far mine has turned out fine but apparently this is a possiability.
