Why are guys so stupid when it comes to makeup?

They think if you have bright red lipstick on (and nothing else) that you have too much makeup on. The kind of makeup that is really effective is the sort that you can barely see or detect. People who are good at applying makeup know how to do just right so it doesn't look obvious, yet it makes the person look much better. I don't buy that "I like the natural look" thing because it makes no sense. Body hair and odor is completely natural too but no one likes that. In fact, women are encouraged to remove all of the hair on their bodies and do all sorts of other things to improve their appearance, and none of these things are natural.

Also, all of those girls in magazines like Maxim, etc have TONS of makeup on and those photos all have been retouched... guys slobber over those girls yet they don't realize how fake they are.

I also dislike poorly applied makeup and clown makeup, but I don't understand the harsh criticism guys have for makeup in general.

Woa...go girl! I totally agree once you get into a good realtionship the guy will say 'oh but i like you without makeup'

Most girls dont wear makeup for guys (unless they are young) we wear it for us! It makes us feel better about our self!!

I completely agree that when makeup is done properly it is fantastic. The "natural look" can be done with makeup, and guys never know you're wearing it, which is why men are stupid... ;) Just wearing foundation to even out the skin tone makes everyone look a lot better (unless you have perfect skin already... doubt it!)

I especially think that for evenings out and at social events like parties, girls can do whatever they want makeup wise, and men shouldn't complain. (as long as they don't go overboard and look like a clown, lol) Obviously we're trying to look nice for them, so they should stop complaining... lol

I do think that the natural makeup look is better for daywear though. It's easier to maintain, and it just looks better for most daytime activites.

I think the biggest problem men have with makeup is that they think it takes too long to do, which is silly. I can do my full makeup routine in 5 minutes or less, and many girls take less time than that.

All I know is... they'll never get me out of the house without at least foundation on, lol.

Most guys don't know what they're talking about when they think or say that they like a woman who is 'natural.' Please! Those usually are the skilled ones that know how to apply makeup and spend tons of money on them every month!

The secret to wearing makeup is to appear like you're not wearing it at all. While someone who only wears really bright, red lipstick appears like she is wearing too much to most guys (but she doesn't), the other more 'natural' girl probably has tons of foundation, blush, ect...on her face to create that 'natural' look, along with a nude lip gloss, which of course, is still makeup.

Anyways, I wanna see some of the guys answer this question ;)
