I read in some magazines that even if you are growing you hair, triming your hair once a month actually makes it grow faster! it this true?

not exactly but it will make your hair look much more healthier and cleaner and if you dont get it cut for a while you will have to get it cut short to get rid of the split ends so you might as well get a trim once in a while

I've heard that as well. Your hair is a living substance like your fingernails. when you leave your hair untrimmed for a long period of time it becomes unhealthy due to split ends and the environment. Dont forget that using hairdryers and straighteners on hair will actually damage it also.

when your hair becomes damaged it will not grow as fast as it will if it is healthy. So if your trying to grow your hair, make sure you trim a little bit (im talking 1 cm or so) each month to encourage healthy growth. However make sure you dont trim too much otherwise your hair will not grow at the rate which you are trimming and it will stay the same length
