People Magazine's judgment seems to have been a bit impaired on this one...perhaps by "hottest" they meant "most talked about of the moment". Probably not...but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive or any other outrageous title they give a person has nothing to do with the actual attractiveness of the person.

It's a publicity ploy. The magazine is flooded by a performer's agent/management with clips and promotional gear about an actors upcoming projects. People picks a person who has a lot of buzz around them in order to further sales.

Look at their list: I bet every actor on that list has a film in the works and is about to be released OR an album about to drop.

Don't put a lot of stock in these types of list. It's just hype.

And concerning gray hair, I think men with gray hair are just as sexy as men without it. Taylor isn't your standard typical hunk, but I don't think he made the list for his looks. I think he's cute, but overall I think his personality makes him attractive.

Let's not be biased against older men. Would you say that an older actress, say Susan Surandon, is less attractive than a younger one? You'd be up in arms if someone made your exact comment but geared it towards a woman.
